The Benefits of Collaborative Divorce on Children and
Families: A Ten-Year Study of Collaborative Divorce in
Nebraska
- Morgan Hecht, LCSW, LIMHP; Christine Lustgarten
The adversarial nature of the traditional litigation divorce
process causes much strife for families. In this session,
you will learn about the Nebraska Collaborative Divorce
process. The presentation will review the results of a study based on data collected from the first ten years
of collaborative divorce in Nebraska and how it benefits
families by allowing them to stay in control of their future
family composition. The panel will discuss the typical
effects of divorce on children and how the collaborative
process avoids putting children in the middle of difficult
situations.
